Who is responsible

The WISE Organizing Committee ("we") runs wisecompetition.com and is responsible for the personal data processed in the competition. Contact: info@wisecompetition.com.

What data we collect

  • Account data: name, e-mail address, password (stored encrypted), country, city, institution, role (teacher, parent, student).
  • Team data: names, birth year, grade and school of students; names of advisors; guardian consent.
  • Project data: title, abstract, uploaded files and links.
  • Judging data: scores and comments.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and session cookies needed to keep you logged in.

Why we use it

  • To run the competition: registration, judging, results and certificates (performance of the participation agreement).
  • To send messages about your project and important competition dates.
  • To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Children

Students under 13 cannot create an account. Their data is entered by a teacher or parent who confirms that they are allowed to do so. For every student under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to participation.

Who can see project files

Only the team's account holder, the judges assigned to the project and the organizers. Judges see projects without student or school names. We publish only the titles of award-winning projects whose teams allowed it, with category, age group and country. Student and school names are never published.

How long we keep data

Account and project data are kept for the season and up to 5 years afterwards so that certificates can be verified. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; certificate codes are then kept only in anonymous form.

Where data is stored

Data is stored on servers of our hosting provider within the European Union.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction, deletion or export of your personal data, and object to or restrict its processing. Write to info@wisecompetition.com. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
